Dr Julia Reid MEP will be taking part in a questions and answers EU referendum debate later this month in Marlborough.

The debate with MEPs Dr Julia Reid and Dr Molly Scott Cato will take place at St Peter’s Church, in High Street, Marlborough, on Friday, May 27 from 7pm until 9pm and all are welcome to attend.

Members of the public will have the opportunity to quiz the MEPs during the event which is to be chaired by Revd Canon Andrew Studdert-Kennedy, Rector of Marlborough’s Anglican Team.

Entry to the event is free but seats must be reserved in advance by logging on to http://www.meps-in-marlborough.eventbrite.co.uk/

Dr Julia Reid said: “The fundamental difference between the EU and the UK are our laws, some of which descend from democratic rights that were first enshrined by the signing of the Magna Carta at Runnymede.

“European laws, however, are based on Napoleonic Law, which is alien to most British people and which dates from a time when most of Europe was living under a dictatorship.

“I urge people to come along to this Q&A session in Marlborough on May 27th. It promises to be a lively debate.”
