UKIP South West and Gibraltar MEP Dr Julia Reid has been appointed the national party’s Welfare Spokesperson.
Her appointment was welcomed by attendees at the Party’s hugely successful South West Regional conference last week which boasted speeches from an array of speakers including Dr Reid, UKIP Deputy Leader Paul Nuttall and the leader of UKIP’s people’s army Nigel Farage.
Mr Farage announced the changes to his spokespeople’ team which saw Councillor David Sprason, who is the Chairman of the UKIP Councillor Association (UKIPCA), become spokesman for Local Government. Dr Reid will continue to be the party’s Science spokesperson.
Commenting Dr Julia Reid MEP, said: “I am delighted to have been appointed to the role of Welfare spokesperson for the party. I will also continue to represent UKIP as its national Science spokesperson.
“It was wonderful that my appointment was announced during the fantastic South West regional conference in Thornbury.
“UKIP’s people’s army is on the march and I will do everything I can, through my roles and as an MEP, to stand up for the South West, Gibraltar and for Britain as a whole.”
